RRR Censor Report: 'F***ing' and 'B***h' dropped from Telugu version; The makers had voluntarily reduced the duration of the film by 5 minutes in December 2021.

 RRR has less than a week left to release. After the super-success of Pushpa: The Rise - Part 01 (2021), the Hindi version of some South films failed to set the box office on fire. Nevertheless, the hype for RRR in Hindi is tremendous, due to the casting, massive trailer, presence of Bollywood stars like Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn and also because it is directed by Baahubali director SS Rajamouli.

EveryThing Radhe Radhe has now got interesting details regarding the censor certificate of RRR and the cuts and modifications done by the makers. The original Telugu version of the film was given a U/A certificate on November 26, 2021. Meanwhile, the Hindi version received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on December 6, 2021. Unlike other Bollywood films, which secure censor certificates in Mumbai, the censor work of the Hindi version of RRR was processed from the CBFC's Hyderabad office.

The Telugu version of the film has three audio cuts. The abusive words 'f***ing' and 'b*** h' were asked to be removed. The word 'Indian' was also dropped from another dialogue as it was used in a specific context which was objected to by the CBFC. Meanwhile, there was no such cut in the Hindi version.

When the certificate was given to the RRR, the duration of both the versions was 186 minutes 54 seconds, i.e. 3 hours 06 minutes 54 seconds. However, on December 24, 2021, the makers voluntarily made some cuts in the film, perhaps to reduce the duration of the film for better effect. The 1 minute 35 second long scene was cut. The end credits were also reduced to 3 minutes and 26 seconds. After these deductions, the final duration of RRR for both the versions is now 3 hours, 1 minute and 53 seconds, i.e. 181.53 minutes.

The makers carried out the censorship process in November and December 2021 as the film was originally scheduled to release in theaters on January 7, 2022. A week before the release, RRR was postponed indefinitely due to the third wave. On January 31 this year, it was announced that the period action entertainer would hit the theaters on March 25.

RRR stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan in lead roles. Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran also feature in the film.
