Tirupati readies for 7 lakh 'common pilgrims' devotees during Vaikuntha Ekadashi

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer J Syamala Rao announced that providing Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan to common pilgrims is the top priority during the Vaikuntha Ekadasi from January 10 to 19.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer (EO) J Syamala Rao has emphasised that providing Vaikuntha Dwara Darshan to common pilgrims is the highest priority for the TTD.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, the EO outlined the detailed arrangements for the Vaikuntha Ekadasi and Vaikuntha Dwara Darshanam scheduled from January 10 to 19, 2025.

The EO announced that TTD has made extensive arrangements to accommodate up to seven lakh devotees during this period. Vaikuntha Dwara will remain open for ten days, with various special protocols in place to ensure a smooth and safe darshan experience for all pilgrims. On January 10, the darshan will begin with protocol darshan at 4.30 am, followed by Sarva Darshan at 8 am.

On Vaikuntha Ekadasi, devotees can witness Sri Malayappa Swamy along with Sri Devi and Bhu Devi, who will bless the devotees on a golden chariot along the four mada streets of the temple from 9 am to 11 am. Afterward, from 12 noon to 4 pm, Malayappa Swamy will offer darshan at the Vahana Mandapam.

On Vaikuntha Dwadasi, a special Chakra Snanam will be held from 5.30 am to 6.30 am, marking a significant ritual. For the convenience of devotees, Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) tokens will be issued at 90 counters spread across eight centers in Tirupati and four counters in Tirumala starting from January 9, to manage the large number of pilgrims expected for darshan on January 10, 11, and 12.

Given the limited accommodation in Tirumala, only devotees holding darshan tokens or tickets will be allowed into queues at the designated times mentioned on their tokens. The EO also mentioned that parking arrangements for around 12,000 vehicles will be made in various locations, including near MBC, Outer Ring Road, and RBGH Area. These arrangements aim to ensure the smooth movement of pilgrims and avoid congestion.

Other essential services, including Annaprasadam, additional sanitation, floral decorations, and electrical illumination by Mysore Dasara Experts, will be in place to make the experience comfortable for all. More than 3,000 Srivari Sevaks, Scouts, and Guides will be stationed to assist the pilgrims throughout the ten days.

Security arrangements will be heightened with around 3,000 police personnel deployed across Tirupati and Tirumala, with 1,200 in Tirupati and 1,800 in Tirumala. This will ensure the safety and order of the pilgrims, especially at the darshan centers.
